Seventh Blog: Discussion of 1x11 "The Honeymoon"

On January 13th 'The Fosters' finally returned with its winter premiere called, "The Honeymoon." I will be recapping everything that happened in the winter premiere below.......

First of all, you have to keep in mind that everything that was happening in this episode happened a day later. Callie ran away the night Stef and Lena were married. Yet no one knew Callie was missing since Jude assumed she was at guitar practice. But the viewers knew that Callie was actually on the road with Wyatt. I was actually surprised and proud of Wyatt for doing the right thing by calling Stef and Lena to come get Callie but of course, Callie found a way to get out of that situation before being found. 

Another thing I loved about the premiere was Mariana and Jesus fighting over Lexi's time and attention. They knew she was going away but they didn't know that it would be longer than a few weeks. Mariana hates feeling excluded and when Mariana was honest with Lexi with how she was feeling, Lexi assumed that Mariana couldn't understand since she has never really had a boyfriend before. Later in the episode, Mariana finds out from her teacher that Lexi won't be coming back and instead of making the situation about her spending time with her best friend, she chooses to be selfless and arranges a proper goodbye for Lexi and Jesus which I loved. Did everyone else love the Jexi (Jesus and Lexi) goodbye scene as much as I did?

Callie also tried to get a job but that didn't work in her favor unfortunately because "you can't get a home without a job and you can't get a job without a home." Callie being disappointed, ended up walking into a store and eating whatever she could and did any of your hearts stop when that clerk gave her one final warning and she took that bite of the candy bar anyway? Because mine did. But I guess it seems she would rather be in jail than go back home.
